Get (And Stay) Motivated To Become The Best Guitar Player You Can Be!

Dear guitarist,

Have you ever felt this way?

  • You sometimes can't motivate yourself to learn and practice guitar.
  • Every time you pick up your guitar, you play the same things over and over…
  • When you "practice,” you noodle while watching TV or jam over some backing tracks for fun
  • You practice randomly and aimlessly, and you don't really know what (or how) you should practice to improve
  • EVEN IF you had a practice schedule, you doubt you would have the guitar playing motivation or discipline to stick to it for any length of time.
  • You have watched hundreds of videos on YouTube, but everything you have learned feels like a pile of disconnected puzzle pieces

Does any of that sound familiar?

Maybe you’ve even thought about quitting guitar (or settling for mediocre guitar skills) ...

If so…

WAIT!!!

I hear you.

You are not alone.

In my job as a guitar teacher, I have talked to hundreds of people over the

years who desperately WANT to learn guitar, but feel stuck with their

progress, lose all guitar playing motivation and just can't seem to get

anywhere.

So, what's wrong?

Why are they not progressing?

Are they just not talented enough?

No.

The good news is that the real reason why people don't progress on guitar

has nothing to do with having the "right-sized fingers,” perfect age or

talent, but…

…it has EVERYTHING to do with HOW you approach getting better at guitar

and how you motivate yourself to learn guitar.

Of all the people who were struggling, I found most of the following

mistakes to be true:

  • They had no idea WHAT they should practice, and their practice had no clear goal or direction. Over time this led to a complete loss of guitar playing motivation
  • Their entire approach was about acquiring new "information,” learning random bits and pieces from songs without a system and framework, which left them with a whole pile of stuff they could not use because they did not understand what they were doing.
  • They had no idea about HOW to practice. They had no training methods or strategies that guaranteed good results. Everything was random.
  • Their progress was not evaluated and tracked.
  • They had no idea that they should focus on building key mental habits required to master any craft - they did not know how to stay motivated to practice guitar

It's not hard to imagine that such a random approach CANNOT lead to good results.
